CIP Reader's Guide

This publication is the 2020 Competitive Industrial Performance Report, presenting UNIDO’s annual Competitive Industrial Performance (CIP) Index, which benchmarks the ability of countries to produce and export manufactured goods competitively. It provides a graphical summary capturing the competitive performance of each of the 152 countries and economies included in the 2020 CIP Index, relative to their performance in previous years and compared to that of the rest of the world. Appendix A contains the methodology behind the CIP Index.

Section 1 explains how to read the country profiles and the appendices provide information on the methodology of compilation of the CIP index, as well as about the country and technology classifications.
